About the Book
Veronica Michaels had spent the past twenty years married to an angry, abusive man who stripped away every vestige of the poetic, independent, romantic writer she used to be. She had become a recluse, a mere shadow of the mother that her daughter Meg remembered. Roni felt trapped in a loveless marriage, burdened with debt, with no hope for a different life or a different future. When she was offered a chance for freedom, she grasped for it - even though it involved a bit of espionage, blackmail, and a dangerous escape for her life with the help of the very handsome father of a co-worker. Would Frank Harrison ever look at her as anything other than a desperate, weak woman needing protection, or was she destined to spend the rest of her life without the love she so longed for?
About the Author
Whether it is the color of the sky as the sun begins to brighten the morning, or the ornate iron fence posts that grace the side of an old brick building, or the sound of the wind as it passes through the weeping branches of the cherry tree, Sandy Kay often finds herself lost in those moments of inspiration, searching for words to describe the feelings that flow through her heart and soul. Sandy was born and raised in a country setting in rural Pennsylvania. For as long as she can remember, she has always had pen and paper in hand, filling the pages with poetry and prose and dreaming of faraway places. After a tour of duty with the U.S. Army and a lengthy career with the U.S. Postal Service, Sandy is looking forward to her pending retirement so she can return to her first love. Currently, she resides in Denver, PA, with plans to move to New England upon retirement. She is the mother of one daughter, and enjoys writing, gardening, and architecture.
