About the Book
Carrie Charles had spent the past 25 years building her career and raising her daughter alone. She tried not to think about the love she'd found and lost so many years ago. Through a series of events during the course of one fateful year, all the loss, heartache, and the pain are brought fresh to the surface. With her daughter moving out to begin a new career in New England, Carrie finds herself struggling with the prospect of spending her life alone. When the love of her life suddenly reappears, how will she deal with his presence and all the painful memories he evokes?
About the Author
Perhaps it is the color of the sky as the sun begins to brighten the morning; perhaps it is the ornate iron fence posts that grace the side of an old brick building; perhaps it is the sound of the wind as it passes through the weeping branches of the cherry tree. Wherever the inspiration comes from, Sandy Kay finds herself at times lost in the moment, searching for words to describe the feelings that flow through her heart and soul. Sandy was born and raised in a country setting in rural Pennsylvania. For as long as she can remember, she has always had pen and paper in hand. As a child, she would sneak away to a pond that sat secluded in the middle of the neighboring farmer's field. There, she would daydream of faraway places and wonder where the future would find her. She spent countless hours writing poetry and prose. Sandy wrote her first novel as a sophomore in high school. Her second novel was written one year later. After serving with the USArmy for several years, and working with the USPostal Service for the past 30 years, Sandy is looking forward to a retirement in which she can spend her time behind a keyboard, enjoying her new career as an author. Sandy Kay currently resides in Denver, PA and is the mother of one daughter. She enjoys writing, gardening, and architecture. She is also the loving "Nana" to two Lhasa Apsos.
