Where had the time gone? For the past 25 years, Sarah Adam had divided her time between working long hours at the Everett Post Office in a rural area of Pennsylvania and raising her daughter alone. With her impending retirement and her daughter grown and heading out on her own, Sarah begins to wonder about what her own future may hold in store and whether or not she would be spending it alone. On one hand, Jack Bryant's life had been filled with heartache and turmoil. He was personally responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of every office in the county - a position that lands him in constant conflict with the tyrant of a Postmaster from the Everett office. Jack and Sarah meet at a local hardware store and begin a relationship that neither wants to admit makes them anything more than friends. When Jack finds out that not only do they both work for the Postal Service, but that he is actually in Sarah's chain of command, he begins a web of deceit that threatens their budding relationship. With all the problems at the Everett Post Office, how long will Jack be able to hide his true identity, and what will happen when Sarah finds out who he really is?

Perhaps it is the color of the sky as the sun begins to brighten the morning; perhaps it is the ornate iron fence posts that grace the side of an old brick building; perhaps it is the sound of the wind as it passes through the weeping branches of the cherry tree. Wherever the inspiration comes from, Sandy Kay finds herself at times lost in the moment, searching for words to describe the feelings that flow through her heart and soul. Sandy Kay was born and raised in a country setting in rural Pennsylvania. For as long as she can remember, she has always had pen and paper in hand. As a child, she would sneak away to a pond that sat secluded in the middle of the neighboring farmer's field. There, she would daydream of faraway places and wonder where the future would find her. Her first novel was written during her sophomore year of high school. Her second novel followed a year later. After spending several years serving with the USArmy in Germany, Sandy has worked for the USPostal Service for more than thirty years. She enjoys writing, gardening, and architecture. Sandy lives in Denver, PA. She is the mother of one daughter and the proud "nana" to two Lhasa Apsos.
