The AuthorHouse Difference
We provide an array of unique publishing plans so authors can publish their books with their vision. The author is in charge of their creation, with as much support and help from our team of experts as they need.
Author Andrea Carlile shares her advice for first-time authors and her experience working with AuthorHouse to self-publish her book, The War That Came Home.
AuthorHouse helps writers become published authors with a presence in the market. Founded in 1997 by an aspiring author who recognized the need for a simple and effective self-publishing process, AuthorHouse has grown into the world's largest self-publisher, providing premier book publishing and marketing services to authors.
AuthorHouse is committed to providing the highest level of customer service available in publishing. Each of our authors is assigned a publishing consultant, who spends hours guiding them through each step of the publishing process.
By choosing a combination of tools and services that best suits their goals, authors retain all rights and maintain editorial control. At AuthorHouse, you control your own publishing destiny.
What is AuthorHouse’s publishing process like?
At AuthorHouse, we want to get to know you and your writing first. This first conversation with your publishing consultant will be a stepping stone towards your goal of publishing your book. Then, you’ll send us your manuscript and book design ideas.
We then evaluate your manuscript entirely to make certain it’s free of any legal issues. After revisions, you have final approval of manuscript and design before it is sent to the printer. It’s your vision, so we want to get every part of your book perfect.
Marketing services begin and plans to market your book come together.
Your book goes live! After your book is finished we still have a job to do. Together, we’ll continue to help market your book.
That’s how it’s done. Follow the link to learn about the AuthorHouse way in more detail.
Should I copyright my book before self-publishing with AuthorHouse?
Copyright is based on your creative authorship and is not conditional on any formal agreement with a book publisher or self-publishing company. However, U.S. Copyright Registration allows a higher level of security and confidence when it comes to protecting your work. Once you register your work it will be officially recognized as a copyright holder in a court of law.
AuthorHouse provides the ability for authors to register a book with the U.S. Copyright Office for you.
How much royalties do I get with AuthorHouse?
Figuring out what you should be getting paid can be complicated. AuthorHouse makes it simple by giving our authors a 25% royalty on all books sold through our bookstore and a 10% royalty rate through other distribution channels. Now if only filling out tax forms could be that easy.
