How To Publish Your Book in Five Easy Steps

Publishing your book is not as hard as you imagine, especially if you go the supported self-publishing route.

How To Publish Your Book in Five Easy Steps

Gone are the days when you’d need an agent or endorsement from a publisher to become an author. You no longer have to wait months and even years to get your book published and displayed in bookstores. Now, with the option to self-publish, becoming an author has become a much easier and faster process.

Now, you can publish on your own terms, at your own pace.

How does the self-publishing process work? What makes it the easier path to take if you want to get your book published? Below, we outline the supported self-publishing process in five, easy steps.

How to Get Published in 5 Easy Steps

Discuss your goals with your publishing consultant.

Before we work on your book, we'll need to get the full details of your project so that we can ensure your vision will be translated into the book you've always wanted.

AuthorHouse has a dedicated team of publishing consultants who are ready to answer any questions you may have about the publishing process. Don’t know where to start? Wondering what items you need to prepare? No worries, our consultants will walk you through the whole process.

Speaking with an AuthorHouse publishing consultant is free.

Choose a publishing package.

The 2nd step to getting your book published involves exploration of the AuthorHouse publishing packages. We have several to choose from, with different price points and included services.

When you get on a call with an AuthorHouse publishing consultant, you can inquire about the types of publishing packages we offer. Based on your discussion, our publishing consultant will be able to suggest a package that aligns with your publishing goals.

You have the freedom to choose a recommended package or go with any of our other publishing packages that you think will meet your needs better. We suggest that you discuss the publishing packages thoroughly with our consultants in order to choose one that you will be happy with.

Sign the Author Agreement Form

Once you've chosen the package that best suits your needs, you can now take on the next step of the supported self-publishing process: sign the Author Agreement Form.

This is the part where you express your intent to purchase one of our publishing packages and any add-on that you may need in order to publish your book. We will then connect you to our Payment Central team who will process your payment.

Submit your work.

Now we move to more exciting steps! After you sign the Author Agreement Form, you can then proceed to submission. You’re one step closer to publishing your book!

We will provide you with a checklist of everything that you need to turn over to us. Prepare your manuscript, and submit it to us, along with your images or illustrations and the other necessary materials. Depending on the services you need, our team of editors and artists will work on your book and help you publish the book you’ve always envisioned.

Review and approve galley proofs.

After your AuthorHouse publishing team polish your book, we will send over proofs of your book’s cover and interior. You will then review it and make corrections and suggestions. We will work on these changes as you have creative control over the whole publishing process.

Once you’re happy with the results and send in your final approval, we will then make your book available for sale on our website within three business days.

Congratulations, you're done! That’s right, it will be as easy and as quick as that. These five steps are all it takes to turn you into a published author.
