Jean tucked her wallet in her bag and looked for her Aunt Matilda, then she gasped in horror as she saw Denny and Vinny trundling towards the counter. As they got to the counter on the main desk Denny grabbed the rifle from the back of the chair and spun around and shouted to everyone to lay on the floor, which people did in a flash, even Jean. At the same time Vinny stood up and shouted to the teller to get the safe open. The teller stared in amazement as Vinny was threatening him with a teddy bear. "Teddy won't like it if you don't," said Vinny, the teller still stared at him, so Vinny shot at him. He was shot in the shoulder and collasped immediately, people in the bank started to scream and Denny told them to shut up or suffer the same fate and then there was silence again. "I told you Teddy wouldn't like it," said Vinny, "You," he said to the other teller, "you open it." "I can't," said the young man shaking in his boots, "only the manager can open - he has the keys." "Good boy," said Vinny, "Teddy like you, now kiss the Teddy." "What," said the teller. "Kiss the Teddy," said Viny, and then in a low meneacing tone he sadded "why don't yer?" There was a sharp intake of breath in the bank as Vinny pushed the Teddy into the tellers face. He fainted just as Vinny pulled the trigger. Everybody screamed. Fortunately the bullet skimmed through his hair and no damage was done. "Shut up," shouted Viny, "or you'll all get some of the same." The screaming stopped but people were silently sobbing.

About the Book
There had been six armed robberies in quick succession, carried out by two men in black wearing balaclavas, and they left no clues to their identity. They seemed to leave the bank and disappear into thin air: there was never a getaway car. Detective Chief Inspecto Bland and Sergeant Boyd were being pressured to do something, and do it now! Then one night they robbed the local Dog Stadium, where Bland and his family were having a night out, and things began to change. Hovering in the background was a weird mother and son, she was in a wheelchair and they spent a lot of time in the local charity shop. The mother spent most of her time staring out of the window, watching the bank opposite..............
About the Author
The author was born in the Medway Valley in Kent and was brought up there during the war years. She still lives there with her husband in the old Medieval town of Faversham. She came to writing late in lifeafter the family had all married and left home, and she had retired. She writes for both children and adults, and her children's books have the element of magic and adventure, and her adult books have mystery and intrigue. She writes for the nine year old in all of us, as she believes we all need a bit of magic and mystery in our lives.
