He did not use the main drive on the way out but kept to the woods, as he came towards the main gate he could see they were locked.. They were eletronic gates and very tall and he couldn't climb over them. They were probably alarmed anyway. He remaned in the edge of the wood while he thought about it. A high fence with barbed wire surrounded the property and cameras were placed at intervals all the way around.When they found Will and the alarm went up they would find him for sure. While he was deciding what to do the cleaner that he had seen in the hospital came down the drive. He fell in quietely behind him. The cleaner swiped a card and the great heavy gates began to swing open. The Messenger rushed past the cleaner and through the gates shouting "Thank's mate, good night" There was a bus about to go and the Messenger jumped aboard. The cleaner walked off in the opposite direction, and the Messenger breathed a sigh of relief. He did not want someone realising that he was not one of the staff, at least not yet. I can't keep this up he thought,not at my age, especially as he was unwell himself. Only two more to go and that would be an end to it. There would be no more.

About the Book
Giles Jones, an out of work newspaperman sat on a bench watching the Thames flow by. There was a lot of traffic up and down the river at this time of night. Boats full of revellers were going past lights blazing, and music blaring. He had his camera on the seat beside him, just one good picture was all he needed. Something splashed in the water up stream from him, as it got nearer he thought it was a small boat, it had two lanterns and a bell on a rod which tinkled. It was a child's coffin and in the soft glow of the lanterns he could see that there was an occupant. This was the first victim of the Messenger of Death.
About the Author
The author was born in the Medway Valley in Kent and was brought up there during the war years. She still lives in Kent with her husband in the old Medieval town of Faversham. She came to writing late in life after the family had left home and she had retired. She writes both for children and adults, and her childrens books have the element of magic and adventure, and her adult books have mystery and intrigue. She writes for the nine year old in all of us, as she believes that we all need a little bit of mystery and magic in our lives.
