The author dedicates this self-enlightenment book to all ordinary souls, gods bless us, who have unwittingly abdicated our freedoms to become enslaved and controlled by binary computers and their associated app monsters. These ubiquitous devices dominate our homes, work cubicles and machines of transport.
Perhaps the most demeaning aspects of these abominable, arrogant, and insensitive ogres are that we often have to stand in line to use them, excuse me. How heartless that people must queue up to get their own money from a clunky germ ridden robotic machine, or crawl bent over, hoping not to break wind, while digging around in dark corners looking for an outlet and nervously trusting that a hapless spider won’t bite.
On top of everything you have to be vigilant about nerdy creeps trying to steal your precious little secret “PIN”, memorializing your dear grandmother’s date of birth. Think about it and then ask yourself: “How dumb is all this and what will be our future, if this madness continues?” Maybe the Luddites of old were onto something.
We have evolved (or is it devolved) to the point where both fact and fiction coming from these hallelujah gaagaachips are viewed by many as just about the same – it only depends on who you ask; be it politicians, newscasters, doctors or holy folks. “It is gospel --- the computer says so”. The new silicon tablets from on high.

About the Book
Today we cannot do anything without getting tangled in some kind of electronic web, stuck on a congested freeway or endure inane cubical working conditions. Add to this political, religious and economic brouhaha and you have the perfect setting for the Viglet Movement.
The inspiration for this book comes from our mundane activities, the kind we all face as we daily roll out to face another electronically enslaving day.

About the Author
The author of “VIGLETS – Pithy Wisdom For a Balanced Life”, Viggo P. Hansen, began his teaching career being so enamored with computers that he authored books on the topic – back in the days of “BASIC”. He was a professor at Cal. State Northridge and spent many years working with international schools helping them integrate computers into their mathematics curricula.
But as computer technology evolved it became for many less “user friendly", more convoluted and frustrating. Computer labs, cubicles, even computing while driving have now become the vogue – not to everyone’s liking.
Gregarious people often feel this has led to personal isolation and stress. In order to de-stress these users, have some fun and lead a balanced life style, creating VIGLETS evolved much in the same way Piet Heim, Danish Physicist created a series called “Grooks”. Viglets can help you ease up a bit by spoofing whatever irks you -- as we slowly drown in our technology.
Hansen, first generation Dane, born in Montana, began his youth hoeing rutabagas and milking cows by hand in Askov, MN. has authored mathematics books for Scott, Foresman, John Wiley and created an online sailing course for NauticEd. He has written, “Boundary Layer People – Immigration and Education in America” and “Noah – First time Boater”.
