Are you here for a tour of Hollyhock Farms? I bet you never had a foot high tour guide before, did you? Yep, I’m it. Maybe you can help me out with my big problem. You see, in my meanderins’ this morning I found this unusual feather and I have not been able to figure out where it came from. We have lots and lots of feathered birds around here, but I don’t recognize this one. See how this end sorta comes to a point with brown in the middle and white on the edges? Feel how soft and fine it is? I don’t mean fine like GRAND, I mean fine like delicate. Really a puzzler. As we go along, you’ll see hundreds of different feathers and I bet you I’m some sort of an expert on feathers. ‘Cept this one.
Now follow me, and I’d watch where I step if I were you. I am glad you wore your play shoes. You know, most of the fowl around here are running free. Only a few are in cages.
Did you know that fowl is a fancy word for chickens, turkeys, - all birds? Also, do not get that word confused with the word spelled f – o – u –l, because that is something not so nice – in fact it is smelly – which our fowl are sometimes.

Ended up with a farm and horse boarding facilities. Children visiting farm were enthralled with the animals – wondered about those who couldn’t share the experience so dreamed up book for them – Our peacock standing in the hollyhocks screamed out the title –
