About the Book

My first published book, And The Goat Cried, a collection of two dozen tales of humor, wit, satire, and tears, made its sequel, The Goat Also Laughed, necessary. In this second collection, I have captured memories of some of the people who have greatly influenced my life. Mama and Papa. My literature professor Welcome Talmadge Smalley. My pastor, John D. Freeman. The Old Man in the Woods. And my brother, the bus driver, as well as Willie, the one who died.

I Remember Miss Florrie, in And The Goat Cried, is a memorial to my best-loved schoolteacher. I didn’t include Oscar and Ethel in The Goat Also Laughed: I’m saving them for a special place in a book all their own.

So here is that Goat again! Laugh with him, but don’t be surprised if a tear falls here too.

About the Author

Henry Buchanan is a Georgian by birth, and his tales have some of the red dust of his native state on them. He now lives in Kentucky, close to the soil and surrounded by fields of corn and beans in Colloway County near the little university town of Murray. He is the author of The Marriage Myth, The Televangelist, The Sinner Messiah, The Day Christ Came Back, The Devil and Tom Walker, Jay Cee, In the Tobacco Patch, and the three part Alfie story: Alfie’s Story, Little Boy Growing Up, Alfie and the Moonshiners, and The Rest of Alfie’s Story.

Henry Buchanan is a theologian, a philosopher, and a counselor, but most of all, a teller of tales, old and new.
