As the name implies, this book is a study of activities done in the name of God. It is a sweeping survey of all of history, and even pre-human history. This book is a survey of what has been done in the name of God, what is being done, what we say we are doing, and what should be done. It covers all of God's covenants with all humans. This book covers activities by heavenly beings, including angels. It covers activities by Satan and his forces. It covers activities by humans. It crosses all races, places, and denominations. This book reflects much biblical research as well as outside research. It also reflects the author's own experience, both as a Christian and as someone who was raised apart for God.
The Standard of Measurement for this book is God and His Bible, but other materials have also been considered. The chapters reflect activities by specific individuals or groups. It is hoped that this book will cause the reader, regardless of religious faith or upbringing, to consider his or her own reaction to God and to His word.
Everything good or bad that a believer in God does, he or she does in the name of God. Whether they like it or not, and whether they intend to do so or not, their actions are still in the name of God. Once someone professes to be a believer in God, even if they belong to a false religion, people begin to judge their words and actions as a reflection of the God they profess to represent. This book addresses that reality.
It is hoped that this book will cause the reader to think. To think about the many blessings of God that can encourage us and uplift us. To think about ourselves, our relationship to God, and what we are doing to, for, or against, God.
