Who was it said that the good die young?
That no foot's loose when the bell has rung.
Why is it that God will make such a decision,
As to take a loved one with such imprecision.
Departed for judgment on a cold afternoon
As if nothing had happened and much too soon.
Who would not say that He must be mistaken
To seize a child- but at four she was taken?
How many erroneous deeds did this child make,
For the good Lord above to decide, her I'll take?
Or was it her character that had not a flaw,
As to those here below that every day saw?
As earthly humans we know to mourn our loss,
For reason and wisdom of God are far beyond us.
Who understands but St. Peter at heaven's gate
Which soul God decides will be too early or late?

About the Book
This is the second book of poems and short stories by Manuel and Leonor. It is a collection of recent memories, observations and even dreams as well as experiences from as far back as childhood. The diversity of subjects they touch on again is impressive. Each new page practically offers a completely new subject whether it is a poem or short story. They begin this volume with a short poem that makes a comment on current society in America and end with a poem about a certain Mexican disgrace. The content and variety in between can vary from a short poem with just 9 words about 'writing' to a short story of 9 pages about a certain 'threat.'
About the Author
Born to a Spanish American family in New Mexico, Manuel was the 5th sibling of 11 children and the first to graduate from a major university with degrees in Engineering and Fine Arts. He has been writing poetry since high school. Leonor was born in northern Mexico and is the third sibling of 8 children. She met Manuel through a mutual friend and after a brief courtship they married only to find they each have a passion for writing. They decided to publish this their second book that includes some of the poetry and short stories from their collection of writings.
