About the Book

While investigating what appeared to be an accidental death of a stripper, Detective Jake Casey, and his partner, Macs, had their doubts.  The girl’s best friend, Karen, tells them that she was only in her twenties, and just started to look much older, and the coroner said she was suffering from osteoporosis. This was something Casey didn’t think possible; especially after her friend tells him she was healthy and strong only a few days ago.

When the coroner is murdered, and the girl’s body is burnt to ashes, Casey is convinced there is some kind of cover-up, but he couldn’t fathom how deep into the evils of the drug world and perverted sex he would have to go to find the man responsible.

As Casey follows every lead, that seemed to pop up from nowhere, they also seem to end as his bosses stop him in his tracks. Beginning to feel like a pawn in a game, he is given another lead about a man called Four, who not only is a genus, but had an overwhelming gift to make whoever he wanted obey his every command by just a glance.

Casey must not only battle his own bosses, but protect his visiting children, the only witness he had, and watch a small town be sacrificed as he tries to solve the puzzle of Four’s hideous desires, knowing that he’d stop at nothing to accomplish his demented goal of killing millions.

About the Author

Joe Ryan was born in Yonkers, New York in the early fifties and remembers as a child going to the movies and watching through his fingers and closed eyes all the horror and science fiction he could. Moving as he entered sixth grade, he spent most of his teen years in Hastings-on-Hudson. There, he graduated high school and attended Mercy College, where he majored in Biology, even if it was only to continue his love for science. Even with that, he still couldn''t get his fill and continued to watch everything that dealt with his favorite subject.

In his late thirties, he decided to move to Duchess County. Living in the country, he even fish and enjoyed the outdoors more than he did in his earlier years. Getting a job as an inspector, he started to remember how he enjoyed the writing he did in some of the classes he attended in college, especially the ones that had to do with the not so normal.

He''d always remembered one class in particular called: Monsters, nightmares and the occult, which allowed him to really use his imagination and write short stories.

Reaching his mid-forties, and with some kind persuasion from his wife, he wrote his first book, the Teacher''s Solution, also published by AuthorHouse.

Writing became his favorite hobby, and he spent too much time down in his basement absorbed in his work, ignoring his other enjoyment. His wife joked of being a weekend widow.

Tainted Waters is only Joe''s second science fiction novel in what he hopes to be many more. He''s already working on a sequel to his first book, the Teacher''s Solution, which should not only be as exciting as his first, but very surprising.
