Christ as our propitiation guarantees God will always look upon us favorably and lovingly for the rest of eternity. In Jesus making us propitious through his crucifixion, He has provided God's favor as the permanent possession of those who believe in Him. Favor was given to us even before we came to Christ. While we were lost in sin stumbling in darkness, we hear a faint song in our heart, like that of a sweet songbird. As we listen, we hear the still small voice of God calling us unto Himself with the sweetest song of salvation, which theologians refer to as Prevenient Grace. If Grace and Favor were extended to us when we were lost in sin, how much more is Grace and Favor ours through our adoption as God's children? God offers Grace to those who need Grace. It is similar to a rescue helicopter that is only available to those in emergent needs. If someone's boat has sunk at sea, and the passengers are now in great peril as stranded in open water, then they are in need of a rescue copter. When the rescue copter arrives, it finds a nearby yacht with a loud party going on totally unaware of the desperate survivors in the water. The partiers wave to the helicopter to come give them a ride on the helicopter, but a rescue copter is not available for entertainment, only for rescue. In the same way Grace is not available for entertainment, it only arrives to rescue the helpless. Grace is not available to assist social gatherings with divine validation, or religious amusement to assist the production of self-righteousness. Those who faithfully observe religious traditions show by their scrupulous work they do not consider themselves helpless, they only seek Grace to elevate their standard of living. Yet Grace only provides Life, and that Life is only offered to those who know they are dead (in trespasses and sins). The uniqueness of the Christian faith when it is compared to pagan religions, reveals why the Christian faith is not a religion at all. In paganism it is the worshiper who approaches the deity with a gift to make himself propitious (acceptable) to his deity (so the deity will look favorably upon him). In Christianity it is God who initiates the contact with man, and approaches mankind with the Gift of His Son in order to make them acceptable to Him, so He can then look upon them favorably. God is the one who wants a favorable relationship, and it is God who creates the conditions that provide the favorable relationship. God is the one who engineers man's access to Him and God is the one who produces real access to Him through Christ. Why would God allow any barrier to exist that would break the intimate contact it cost the blood of His Only Begotten Son to provide?

About the Author
Thomas Moore began studying the Scriptural problems involved in the tithing doctrine that is based on Malachi 3:8-11 while in the Navy in Vietnam. Through decades of intensive study he found a germ within that doctrine that infected every major doctrine of the Christian faith. To trace the infection through the various doctrines he had to amass an extensive theology library and devote decades to rigorous research. After 44 years of research, the startling fact uncovered was the tithing doctrine conceals a hidden agenda that rejects the Gospel of Grace. The author urgently warns believers to pay no attention to teachings about tithing from Malachi 3:8-11, they are filled with deadly poison.
