David McCune’s new novel 17 Minutes reveals another side of 9/11. Most remember September 11, 2001, as a beautiful sunny day that ended with the unforeseen and tragic deaths of 2,996 individuals, including fourteen pregnant women. Those of age remember where they were, and many witnessed the second plane impact the South Tower a short seventeen minutes after the first attack on the North Tower. While we have all heard many stories about the tragic victims and the families they left behind, as well as the incredible acts of heroism and nationwide support demonstrated on that catastrophic day and in its aftermath, have you ever wondered—Could it be possible that there were some who took this unexpected opportunity to start their troubled lives anew? This is the story of such a man. While the rest of the country banded together, he simply . . . walked away. What does he do with this second chance? Does he learn from his past and seize the opportunity to be the man he wishes he can be? Or does he fall back into the same pitfalls one can certainly be susceptible to in this complicated thing we call life? All had an experience from that life-changing day, now referred to as 9/11. All will never be the same.

About the Author

During the September 11, 2001 attack, David McCune and his daughter Sarah were in Hawaii. The most dangerous place to be sixty years earlier, after the Pearl Harbor attack, was now the safest. Waking very early, they watched in horror as news reports showed the second plane hitting the South Tower. At breakfast they witnessed the shock on the faces of those who learned what had happened hours before. Returning home and inspired by the countless heroes of Nine Eleven, the lives lost and the coming together of the American people, McCune wrote the song Home Land Security. The song was recorded by a Nashville artist and became a favorite of Vice President Dick Cheney. In 2011, in honor of Nine Eleven, McCune designed a wine label for a select commemorative line of wines. The graphic design on the bottle was similar to the cover of this book. The twin towers stood 350 feet tall. In McCune’s design, the Twin Towers, Pentagon and aircrafts are to scale. Now, fifteen years after the attack of September 11, 2001, McCune’s new novel 17 Minutes comes forth.  David McCune, founder, president and owner of McCune Technology for the past forty years is often referred to as, “A Renaissance Man” because of the diverse facets of his challenging undertakings.
