When he stopped to open the door, JJ asked, “Popsie, can we have an Easter egg hunt?” Popsie turned to the kids and said, “We are not going to have an Easter egg hunt. Now I want you kids to go sit down. I’ll be back in just a minute. ” Oh, the kids were so sad. Alex plopped down on the couch with his arms crossed. Kait went and sat in the floor with her arms and legs crossed. JJ just stood there staring up at Popsie. She couldn’t believe he had said that. Here it was Easter and they were not going to hunt for Easter eggs. As she thought more about that, a tear started to form in her eye. That’s when Popsie smiled and said, “Go sit down JJ. We are not going to have an Easter egg hunt, but we are going to have an Easter hunt.” Then he stepped outside.

About the Book
This story is the result of actual adventures shared with my grandchildren. These adventures allow me the opportunity to share Bible stories of God’s love with them. In this story, I alter the traditional Easter egg hunt in order to share the true meaning of Easter with them. Imagine their disappointment when I told them they would not be hunting for Easter eggs. There are always opportunities to share life’s lessons and the joy found in God’s grace. There is nothing on earth that moves my heart more than hearing a loved one draw closer to our Creator. My hope is that this little story will open the door for your children or grandchildren to explore God’s Word and experience his mercy, grace, and love.
About the Author
Rick Arnecke was born and raised in Texas. He and his wife, LaDonna, live in Lorena, TX. They are the parents of two sons, two daughters, and three very special grandchildren. Rick has served as an elder at their church, Stonegate Community Church, and together with LaDonna, they served the youth group for several years. Rick is now retired after spending thirty-six years with United Parcel Service.
