About the Book

Inside A Crazy Mind was only the beginning. The follow-up, Mad Skillz, is a true testimony to Malcolm Washington’s mind. Donning his alter ego, the Ruler of Rhyme, Washington has created a set of fantastic poems that dive deeper into the emotions, morals, and the madness of life. To take you further into the madness, Washington includes the short story “What Happens in Vegas.” Addressing issues of love, justice, anger, and of course, madness, Washington tells the truth with a maturity beyond his years. Washington wanted to explore the different extremes and viewpoints of emotion. His view of bleakness can cause his readers to see disastrous circumstances in a different way. This work is not only different from Inside A Crazy Mind, but it also proudly proclaims that Washington indeed does have Mad Skillz.

About the Author

Malcolm Washington was born in Murrieta, California. At a very young age, his parents knew that there was something different about him. He showed his creative side by writing stories and producing videos. At age eleven, Washington was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and two years later in 2009, he tragically suffered a shunt malfunction. After the shunt malfunction, his recovery involved months of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It was after returning to middle school Washington began to write poetry. His first poem, “My Summer Break,” was published in The Gold Edition: 2010 Poetry Collection, which embodies works from students across the United States. His unique style is credited to his view of the world. His poems are for any audience and contain humor, inspiring views, and just a bit of darkness. Washington is currently attending San Diego Christian College, where he is working toward his bachelor’s degree in psychology.
