About the Author
The author is a well known journalist from Albania. She has been awarded as an investigative reporter with the " Best Career Journalist", in 2006. She holds that title that gave her the position of the Head Of Union of Albanian Journalist in Korca city. Juliana Dhimitri-Polena is known to the public as a writer due to her poetry publications in her country. She worked as a correspondent in the biggest national television Top Channel. For several years she has been a correspondent and a reporter of the most important national press and television. She was born in Durres, Albania in 1978. The autor grew the passion and love for poetry since her childhood. She published the first poems in the newspaper “Perpara” , and in 1994 my poems were awarded on a national poetry contest of “Intervista” newspaper, as the best modern poetry . In 1991 she moved to Korca, a city of culture and tradition, the cradle of literature and education, and the land of artists and writers. She have been part of different poetry publications. She studied in Romania from 1996-2001, where graduated the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication Studies, in the University of Bucharest. After the she went back in Albania where she worked for 10 years as a journalist for the biggest media company, Top Media, serving in the same time for Top Channel Tv, Gazeta Shqip and the 24 news channel Top News. Since September 2008 she was elected and kept the position of the Head of the “Union of Albanian Journalists” in Korca, an organization that protects journalists and fights for their rights, supporting the professionals working in a very difficult field. Juliana Dhimitri-Polena is the author of more than 10, 000 published articles, news, scoops, chronicles, features, commentaries, analyses, and her name occupied the first page several times as the result of headlines in the national newspapers. She is also coauthor of different researches on media ethics, coauthor of studies regarding politics and elections, economical development and environmental issues. "Shadows of the Dark" is her first poetry book that she always dreamed to publish. She's living in Boston since June 2011, after her marriage.
