About the Book
The collection consists of twenty-five stories that are mostly based upon real facts that happened in Georgia in the 20th and 21st centuries and represent our customs and traditions. I think the characters and subjects of the stories will be interesting for foreign readers.
Anyone interested in literature can read the book and no matter whether he’s 13 or very, very old.
The collection is a mixture of philosophy and mysticism.
Love and hatred, treachery and devotion, consideration and indifference are the things that people are mostly inclined to think about and the author is not an exception. All the characters have something in common with the author and are prototypes of the people famous for the so-called ”Rose Revolution”. But there can be no revolution without changes in one’s mind.
About the Author
Iza Chkadua was born in March, 1962 in Svanetia, one of the most beautiful mountainous regions of Georgia. She had always been fond of reading. As she usually says her whole life is a true VERSE. Literature had been her refuge since she was a little girl. Silence and books have been the only salvation for the fragile woman and the very collection of stories is somewhat of the longed-for bareness of her soul. It was the desire to free herself from the experience of the past that made her write the book and share all the sensations with you, dear Reader. Iza Chkadua graduated from Tbilisi A. S. Pushkin Institute of Philology in 1987, and in 1993, I graduated from Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Department of Philosophy and Psychology. She is an author of several poetic collections and publishes her prose works in different Georgian periodicals. Now Iza Chkadua lives in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. She has a husband and two children. Most stories included in the very collection are based upon real facts.
