BLOODY BONES AND PUS-FILLED CRATERS -FOR TEENS! Vol. 1

FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE •.•• Devils v ghosts, demons, witches casting spells, that thing under your bed- And wandering spirits of the dead! Growing up I was frightened when I heard these stories. Alas p as we all do, I eventually grew up and decided to look into the stories that had caught my imagination so long ago and discovered an entire world of URBAN LEGENDS and FOLKLORE -FOAFfiS "Friend of a FriendlY stories told over and over SWORN to be true- but usually just a tales warning us of the dangers to our society in the past- IN TODAYuS society it is regarded as silly to believe we are doomed to seven years bad luck for breaking a mirror or walking under a ladder-- AND itls even sillier to take full credit for stories live written without acknowledging that ALL storieseven the ones in this book are derived from stories of the past. INFECTED - Right along with the same type of urban Legends that exposes our fear we share as a society, making each of us cringe at the thought of catching some incureable sickness, disease or even deformity caused by calamity. With THIS in mind, I came up with the idea for this story while sitting on a broken down bus and observing the strange behavior of a chattering man who stepped aboard DESPITE the fact everyone kept telling him we were PARKED and going NOWHERE! The old woman commenting about the weather, and the old man's chattering is all true. -However puss-filled pimples that pulsate, erupt and squirt in peopleis faces is something I came up with on my own! IMAGINARY FRIEND - Based on ACTUAL events involving one of my younger brothers- His excuse for broken furniture and windows was always the same: "BUT LIZEN DID IT!" Eventually my parents grew tired of these excuses- One night my entire family sitting in the living room began poking fun at my brother's "wild imagination" One of us asked him to tell us what LIZEN looked like, since we couldn't see him-- We were given the same description Porchea gives her Mother in the story: -A pale, thin boy my brother's age, long blonde hair, short pants that buckled beneath the knees, white stockings and weird black shoes with funny square buckles! -A perfectly CREEPY description of someone from another era! My brother truly loved Lizen's presence- That is UNTIL our Dad accidentally left him at a gas station somewhere in between Colorado and Nebraska- And just like that- we NEVER heard from Lizen again! When we finally moved from that house, we found out the property it had been built on USED to be the location of an old cemetary! Thus explaining ALL the strange sights and sounds witnessed by everyone in my familyu including me! This story is written in dedication to LIZEN- R.I.P. Buddy! CHEATING DEATH - The story of a iBstoryteller" in a town too small and unworthy of being an audience was written after a few of my own brushes with Death- And all the other TRUE stories live told that no one could possibly believe! Fortunately I was able to move to CALIFORNIA before being FROZEN, forever STUCK in NEBRASKA- One DEATH I barely escaped! POETRY: HORROR FROM A-Z - First this began as a fun, silly project for kids, however the selections in this book are much darker than those meant for kids- Although not all of it is scary- It definitely makes great reading material especially for those of us who enjoy FINE prose! I regard poetry as a lost form that ought to be "Brought back from the dead" -Which is why I strongly believe, childish or not they deserve to be inside this book along with the stories.
