About the Book

Although I may have put the cart before the horse in writing this paperback,  this educator-author still draws from teaching experience to promote an interest in everyday life and travel in the last century.  He combines three e-books (if the first can be located) and one paperback entitled: Wise Men Seek Him.  Fortunately I was in a home in which my parents stayed together for the life of their marriage, almost 50 years.  I know this relationship might be over emphasized at times, but it gave me more stability in my background and was an important factor in getting a graduate degree in the field of education.  In her later years, my mother opened up the doors of her home for church friends and services, after Dad Didlo passed away.  The home which my father provided, along with his wife and mother of five children...was a second  home for relatives in need of a place to stay with and without children, during mom's later years.

About the Author

My paperback entitled: American Community Voices, is predominately non-fiction in genre.  It is based on family life primarily in the Mid-West  It also includes a photograph of  when activated for the Berlin Crisis at Washington State, and an overseas Army Dependents School JHS track meet in Europe when  a teacher-counselor employed as a civilian with the American Government in 1967-68.  Newspaper clippings turned grey and torn at the edges a little,  bring more closure to the script of American Community Life paraphrased as 'voices' in the title.  I was also a track coach a few years during my teaching career!  Although I've subbed in classes as a reading teacher at K-12 grades, I never was employed full time in that position, so this project is sort of a substitution for full-employment experience in that area. The photograph taken at the Winnebago Fairgrounds indicate my unsucessful bid for the 54th District Assembly Seat in Oshkosh in the Republican Primary in 2006.  This out of classroom bid for public office was a bit like my working for Coca-Cola in Oshkosh as a summer route salesman my first two years at UW-O (Oshkosh State College then) before joining the Wisconsin National Guard at 19 as a sopomore, then  in the business curriculum at the local university.

This scouting anniversary year of 2010 is a banner year for scouters around the world for parents and adult leaders, who make such an event possible.  The 100 Year Anniversary of Boy Scouts of America should probably include Girl scouts as well, just as the American Legion's Auxillary  which gives balance to the mission of the organizations as well.  For example, The American Legion & Scouting Square Knot Award  for the year of 2010 is meant to recognize dedication and work  of both related organizations. The author is an active member of WSRA, PDK International, and ASCD. These organizations bring closure to the national education mission statements. Phi Delta Kappa, Wisconsin State Reading Association and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development have similar local, state and national goals.
