About the Book
With his family now numbering nine and their reserve funds dwindling each month, Bob Garrett decides to accept the advice of his superior and seek more detailed banking knowledge through a series of special courses offered at the University. It is suggested that doing so might enable him to obtain a promotion to the bank’s next level officer position and a higher salary. It is during the period he is making that effort that a major tragedy occurs which affects not only the Garrett family, but the entire nation as well.
About the Author
After nine years of caring for his beloved wife, Peggy, the last seven on a twenty-four-seven basis, R. R. Emmett was joined by two of his daughters to be present when Peggy passed into eternity on July fourth, two thousand nine. All eight living children and a majority of his grandchildren and great grandchildren were with him for her funeral Mass a week later. Family members, friends and relatives came from The United Arab Emirate, the States of California,
Emmett decided to continue the chronology because in it he and Peggy, represented by the Garrett family, are together as they strive to raise their children despite the challenges every family faces. Writing the books is admittedly therapy for Emmett because in them Peggy is still with him.
The author is somewhat concerned about the fact that The Kinship opens the door to a whole new awareness of Bob Garrett that the reader has never seen before. As this awareness becomes more evident in The Lament, the next edition of the chronicle, some readers may question whether they wish to continue to follow the travails most of the Garrett family members are forced to accept.
