About the Book

Ed woke up with the blaring alarm! He almost wished he didn’t live in an advanced gopher civilization with jobs, electricity, and trains to the office.

So begins the novella, E. D. Gopher. After saying goodbye to his wife and kids, E.D. never makes it back to the office. Instead, he finds himself as the leading voice in an unusual and desperate struggle for survival, for himself and his fellow Gomericans.

“This clever satire gives the reader humorous insight into the Presidency and its politics, all from a gopher point-of-view.”

Sandy Whelchel/Author and Executive Director

of The National Writers Association.

“What does one call E. D. Gopher? A meditation? An allegory? A beast fable? Like its predecessors, Animal Farm and Watership Down, it is all of these things and more! A fascinating analysis of contemporary society.”

Jason Stewart/Librarian

“Creative! Funny! Ron N. Wallace brilliantly utilizes humor in the midst of Gopher Tunnel crisis. Wallace’s refreshing story of E. D., who displays courage and political smarts when faced with a terrorist situation which threatens his world, shows us how one, ordinary gopher can make a difference. A very fun read!”

Lia Lambrecht/Writer and Editor
