Tania Prewett is a typical teenager living on a quiet, boring island – who longs for some excitement. One night, on the way home from some fun with her friends, she gets some, more than she bargained for – she witnesses a murder! As the killer has seen her, she knows she can’t hide, especially not on a small island.
After talking to her friends, she initially decides to stay quiet, but after the killer attacks her friend Katelyn and her sister Kelly, Tania realizes she must testify. With the help of Detective Silvana Cohen, she does so.
A year later, after motion after motion, delay upon delay, the trial is set to begin – finally. While at school, Tania gets word that her house is on fire, and she rushes home. Arriving there, she initially thinks her grandmother and parents are dead, and is then relieved to find them alive. Yet, more bad news follows; Tania gets a text message that promises death to her friends, school, and ultimately herself and her family. She and the detective think the gang intends to set off a bomb at the big upcoming football game, but without proof, the authorities will not act. So, Tania and her friends decide to act in their own defense!
In the two weeks left before the big game, they train as hard as they can to be ready for anything that comes their way. While rehearsing for the next school play, Katelyn and Jacob – two of Tania’s friends – make a discovery; they find two valuable clues: a piece of sheet music and a simple map. From this, they deduce that the trigger man for the bomb will stand near the football stadium, wait for the end of the song, and then detonate the bomb.
Come the big game, the Wild Geese go through their moves as the football team plays, and Detective Cohen leads what few cops they have available in a search for the bomber. At halftime, the band takes the field and starts to play, and Tania is convinced that she and her squad must act. They race out of the stadium and try to figure out where the bomb could be. It’s then that they realize the truth; the map wasn’t where the bomber is to stand – the stick figure of a man on the map is the statue in a nearby park. The map is to where the bomb is hidden. They also realize that the bomber is waiting to hear the last note of the last song – a cymbal bash – to trigger the bomb.
At this point, the team splits up. Samantha – who also does makeup for the theater – recognizes that a man in a disguise, and chases after him, figuring him to be the trigger man. Meanwhile, Tania and Linda (another member of the squad) race back to the field to stop the cymbal bash. All of them prove successful: the music is stopped, the bomber caught, and the game is finished.
A few days later, Tania testifies against the killer, and he’s convicted. After the trial, she and her family head home, determined to rebuild their lives.
