About the Book

About the Book

The Power To Believe gives hope as it helps to increase the faith of those who are caught in a storm and don’t have a clue of what to do. This powerful account clearly demonstrates the limitations of medical science. The Power To Believe informs us that what keeps us going forward depends on how we respond to the circumstances that come our way.  The apostle Paul taught that, "The God of Peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20).  He’s saying that when we maintain the peace of God during warfare it is a crushing death blow to satanic oppression and fear.  Our victories in battle never come from our emotions or our mental capacity.

The Bible tells us in Psalms 23:1, that there is a place of walking with God where you simply fear no evil.  It helps us to understand that this place begins with our relationship with Jesus Christ and an experiential understanding of who He is.  You can not rule over the devil until you are submitting to God's rule over you.  The focal point of all victory comes from seeking God until you find Him, and when you find Him, allow His presence to fill your spirit with His peace.  This book is an enabler of a good work, which assist in helping the reader to walk by faith.  This God inspired tool will frame the process for taking God at His Word.  By so doing the readers themselves will come to know the peace of God as they triumph over the works of the devil in victory.

About the Author

“And God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen yea and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are”.  This verse provides an excellent introduction into the life of the author.  Gwendolyn A. Cook renewed her faith in God and became a new creature in Christ in 1996.  With a renewed sense of direction she committed herself to the study of God’s Word.

In 1998 Gwendolyn enrolled at Vision International Bible College and received a degree in Biblical studies.  The following year she became an active member of Living Faith Christian Center.

In 2003, Gwen’s faith in God was challenged by a physical condition which sought to take claim of her life.  When told by her attending physicians that surgery was absolutely necessary and that the odds were against her, she signed herself out the hospital against the doctor’s advice in order to seek God.

After spending several days in prayer she re-admitted herself into the hospital with the confirmation that God was at work on her behalf.  This account is about a woman with base beginnings who consciously dared to defy practical human reasoning in the face of a life threatening condition in order to experience “The Power To Believe.”

This wonderfully written account of a life changing experience allows the readers to not only see life through the eyes of the author but to experience the same courage that gave her “The Power To Believe.”
