Frank Ogden's War

Number-3 brought his cell phone to his ear and heard the ‘GO’ signal.  He gave the time and began his drive to the second drug area.  These drug houses, in the second district, were closer to the docks.  Another convenient factor was the arrangement of the houses.  They were on a zigzag route from east to west.  Number-3 watched from a point three blocks down from the first house.  He saw the steady traffic stopping to buy drugs.  His truck bed had been fitted with a large tank filled with diesel fuel.  He started driving down the street at fifteen miles per hour.  When he approached the third house from the target, he reached for the button that activated the release valve.  The fuel spilled out of the discharge hose dragging along the ground to leave a spreading ribbon of fuel on the street.  When he drove past the second house following the dealer’s busy Store, he released the button.  He continued until he reached the second drug house, and in a like manner, repeated his action.  At the third, he did the same but continued allowing the fuel to flow until it ran out as he rounded the corner and pulled into a driveway to turn around.  Retracing his previous route, he blew his horn and yelled gibberish.  When he was close enough for the dynamite to cause noise, but not cause harm to the drug buyers, he tossed a lit quarter stick of dynamite onto the ribbon of fuel where it exploded and ignited the fuel.  Flames raced along the ribbon in both directions.  Number-3 outraced the flames until he was on his way back to the second house.  The blast shook the dealers, knocked them off their feet and onto the ground.  The buyer’s bouncing car severely jostled him.
