I knew Bernard was as ready as I to rip the lid off that circle. His own curiosity was getting to him. I could tell this from his voice, as each time he talked to us his voice was an octave higher. It was only those on the ground with him and Charles that restrained him once before. I was glad I was not in his place, locked away by intervening space and depending on others to give shadowy descriptions.
The orange taped path began to evolve, retaining our every footstep.
Kevin: “Take me to the writing."
"It is in the middle of the circle."
Kevin and I walked casually to the circle, over its edge, onto it and on to its center.
I asked him, noting he was looking in the correct direction, "How are you going to see the symbols without an ultraviolet filter?"
Kevin: "I see it just fine. Interesting. You need the ultraviolet filters and I don't.
“ Each of us should make a drawing of what we see. You with the unaided eye and I’ll use the filters."
Kevin: "Roger."
We each withdrew a pad and pencil from our utility belts and began to draw. I glanced at Kevin's drawing from time to time and found he was dutifully recreating my sketch. We walked around the wealth of symbols as we faced each section.
"I'm finished. How about you, Kevin?"
Kevin: “Just say... minute... there. Done. Do you think you can decipher the symbols here, or will you have to wait until we return to Earth?"
"Years may be needed to achieve any usable results... unless..."
Kevin: “Unless, what?"
He led the way to the edge of the circle.
"Unless there are additional texts inside and something to act as a decoder. Then-"
We stepped off onto the gently giving soil. My radio suddenly blasted fevered questions.
Bernard: “What the hell is going on with them, Charles?"
Charles: “I don't know. I'm bounding to the circle to meet them. Almost there. Frank? Frank?"
Bernard: “Frank? Kevin? Answer me. Answer me now! Charles! Have you gotten to them yet? Charles! Have you reached the circle?"
Charles: “What is wrong with you guys? Don't you hear me?"
"What in the world are you so excited about, Charles?"
Charles: “We have been trying to get you to answer us since you stepped onto the circle."

About the Book
The Committee For Undiscovered Findings is a government sponsored, scientific agency, given the task of studying unearthly artifacts. Frank was curious and intrigued by the simple one line Committee letter stating, “You are invited to partake of a finding.” From that moment, Frank’s curiosity drew him forward into an adventure to the Moon and back. He went to study an Alien artifact on the Moon and any languages contained therein. Returning to Earth, he and his two colleagues, Charles and Kevin, struggled to decipher the artifact’s purpose and continuing effects. As sanity seemed to slowly drain from Charles and Kevin, Frank fought with bouts of paranoia. Security closely monitored him and his two colleagues working inside the military guarded and fenced compound. Frank began to realize there was more to the Finding than his simple paranoia—a connection between the Earth, Moon and Committee. His insights and continued probing brought him into conflict with the Committee’s leader. Frank’s final realization, once gaining full knowledge of the Committee’s counter purpose, led him to an end he could not anticipate.
An easy and enjoyable read with a thought provoking finale.
About the Author
Frank Mungiovi has worked at a poultry farm, bank, drive-in and indoor theatres. His love of movies held him captive in the theatre exhibition business. He has worked at all facets of the theatre and worked his way up to technician, repairing and maintaining sound and projection equipment. He is an avid science fiction, horror and mystery movie fan. He wanted to see more science fiction made into movies. Combining that desire and his love for writing, he set out to fulfill that dream. His first book was written in 1978 as a test of his writing ability. After retiring in 2005, he wrote his second book. He then searched for a publisher and took the plunge.
