“Yes, Dan, kids included. That is a long way off from now, so I will just concentrate on those wonderful looking dinners coming our way and perhaps a bit more champagne” she laughs
The waiter brings their dinners and he pours more champagne for the two of them. The food was wonderful. After they finished their meals and the plates were removed, the waiter asks them about dessert.
“Can we wait on deciding dessert?” Maggie says
“Yes we can certainly wait” Dan tells the waiter that they will wait on dessert.
They got up to dance and work off some of their food. There are some fun songs played, and even more romantic soft songs. The singer was very good they commented to each other. Enjoying the magic of the dance floor for several dances, the two went back to the table.
“I think I will skip dessert, but I will have some espresso” she tells Dan
The waiter returns and Dan orders espressos for both of them.Maggie excuses herself to the ladies room. While freshening her lipstick, she talks to herself. “Maggie, Dan is too good to be true” She knew that in her heart. She had been in love before, or more like what she thought was love, with Brian, but this was different. The feelings she had now, weren’t like the ones she had for Brian. Then at that moment, to her surprise she realized she was falling in love with Dan.
She came back to the table and drank some of her espresso.
“I didn’t realize it was this late already” she comments
“Is it late?” he asks and looks at his watch. “Its only 10:30, not so late, but then if you take into consideration that we have been here since a little after 6:00, then yeah, it’s a bit late. Did you want to go home?”
“How about one more dance first.” she says
The two got up to dance and the singer started singing a new song when they got to the dance floor and the song she was singing was “The next time I fall in love, it will be with you” Maggie thought something was up with that song, so she asked Dan.
“Did you request this song while I was in the ladies’ room?”
“No, honest, I didn’t. I had no idea….maybe it is our song, Maggie” with that he leans down and kisses her softly on the lips and they begin dancing.
After the song ended they went back to the table, Dan signed the bill, left a hefty tip for the waiter, they gathered her stole and they left the restaurant.On the drive back home, they talked and she thanked him again.
“I had a wonderful time, the food was like none other, thank you Dan”
“The pleasure was all mine. By the way Maggie, how are you getting to the airport on Tuesday?”
“I am just leaving my car there. I didn’t want to inconvenience anyone with dropping me off and then picking me up, and the last flight I was on between Chicago and Raleigh was delayed in Chicago because of weather, and being it is November, I didn’t want to take that chance again. Its easier this way in case of plane/flight delays. Why do you ask?”
“Well, if you needed a lift to the airport, I thought I would take you”
“Thanks for the offer Dan, but I am all set, besides, it doesn‘t sound like you will have much time for much of anything other than the office this week.”
When they arrive back at Maggie’s about 11:30 and she asks him to come inside.
“Would you like something to drink, wine, coffee?” she asks
“How about just some sparkling water”
She pours two glasses and carries them back to Dan. She say that he had opened the French doors and was standing on the deck. It was warm for November, she brought the glasses out and handed one to Dan and noticed he had removed his tie and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. Just relaxing, she thought. They stood in silence looking at the
stars drinking their water. It was about 20 minutes later when Dan turned to her and said,
“Thank you for tonight, your dress, your hair, your legs, thank you. It was truly a magical night”
He then walked inside carrying the glasses to the kitchen. Maggie came inside and closed the doors. She turned around and found herself in Dan’s arms. He placed a soft kiss on her lips and told her he should get going home.
Maggie looks into his tantalizing eyes, and says “Dan, stay…. stay with me tonight”
Dan could hardly believe what she said, but he didn’t want to question her in the chance that she may change her mind, so when she reached for his hand to lead him down the steps to her bedroom, he followed.
Once inside the bedroom, Maggie asked him to turn the television set on to channel 423. It was a soft romantic station that played music without commercials through her cable provider.
While Dan was doing this, Maggie was lighting the candles on her nightstands. As she blew out the last match, Dan had come up behind her and turned her into his arms. He looked into her eyes as a bent down to kiss her. Maggie was the one who deepened the kiss, and Dan slowly unzipped her dress and helped her step out of it. He couldn’t believe how really sexy she was.

Maggie Franks has a happy, successful life in Chicago until she finds her fiancé with another woman. Her heart is broken, she tries, but she just can't erase those heartbreaking memories. Leaving her job, her family, her friends, she moves to Raleigh, North Carolina to start a new life. Maggie settles into her new home and job with ease but the pain in heart is still as vivid as ever until her friends introduce her to Dan Nolan. Dan is immediately attracted to Maggie, after several months, finds he is falling in love with her. While in Chicago visiting her family, she runs into her ex-fiancé, and discovers her heart has mended, as she is in love with Dan. Returning home, hoping to tell Dan how she feels, but when life, events and busy schedules interfere, it is New Year's Eve when they finally share their feelings. When her ex-fiancé, Brian Caine tracks her down in North Carolina and attacks her, she wants to push Dan out of her life to avoid getting her heart broken again. Finally, when she decides to press charges against Brian, Dan is at her side. On the day the verdict against Brian, Dan is in New York on business, where Maggie is supposed to be joining him for a romantic weekend, during which Dan plans to surprise her and propose. When Dan learns the verdict came in, and Maggie isn't on the plane heading to New York, he fears she will never forgive him for not being there. Maggie is at the ocean thinking about everything that has happened….she looks up and sees Dan...........

Happily married to my husband Bob for 29 years, we live in a suburb outside of Detroit, Michigan. I am the mother of two terrific children, a daughter who has graduated college and medical school, now a doctor in Cleveland, Ohio, a son has graduated college and is continuing his education. Many years ago, I have had newspaper articles printed, but nothing in recent years. As an avid reader, I have been considering writing a book for several years. With my children now grown and having been diagnosed with a challenging, rare lung disease, thus getting prepared for a double lung transplant, which has of late, caused me to somewhat slow down, I now have the opportunity to dedicate some of my time to writing. This is my first book, I believe it has a good story line, which I hope all of you will enjoy.
