This book is written for any person who is interested in learning how to live peacefully in a world of turmoil, chaos and distress. There is a WAY for you to do this. There is a WAY of Life. It is not hard. It is very easy but it is very, very exact. In order to come to know this Way, in your own experience, an individual male or female must be willing to change. The necessary change is a movement from your present experience of turmoil, chaos and distress before you can experience the new Way of Life that is available to be experienced. The new state available to you is characterized by serenity, calmness, patience and understanding. This new state is available for you to dwell therein above the world of turmoil and trouble.
The troublesome state is caused by the old and familiar way in which you have viewed the world of your immediate environment; the new way is based upon a new viewpoint, a new vision, of perceiving the very same environment that surrounds you and troubles you. There are two views available to be experienced: one view is subjective, the other view is objective. The old view is varied and cloudy; the new view is exact and crystal clear. There is a “journey” of a sort involved to move from your past experience of cloudy distortion to the “new” experience of clear reality.
This journey is not a physical journey from one ugly physical place to another physical place of beauty. Many people erroneously believe, very sincerely, that they will indeed leave their personal garden of good and evil and enter, through a magic gate, into a garden of Eden. They have believed the fantasy that they can leave the mountain storms behind them and enter through a short tunnel into the beauty of Shangri La to find the place of a long and healthful life. This idea of a physical transition from ugliness to beauty is only helpful if it is used as a parable, a metaphor or an allegory, as to what really needs to occur within a person’s experience
The real “journey” that needs to transpire or occur takes place in the very same place within a human body: the “journey” takes place in the same space occupied by the thoughts and memories of your mind as well as the feelings and emotions of your heart, your emotional realm. The real transition needs to take place in your consciousness. It is your consciousness that is the source of the actions that are revealed through your physical form. Your consciousness contains the beliefs, opinions and the facts passed down to you over many generations of time. The content of the consciousness in your particular physical body is the source of your decisions and the actions that you express into your environment. Isn’t this how things really work?!
LIVING IN THE LIGHT Above The Line asks us to consider this simple question. “What if the content of your own consciousness, the present factual condition of your mind and heart, is not at all clear, but it is really polluted, and you view your environment through this pollution!? If your mind and heart are filled with pollution, impurities, false concepts and beliefs, isn’t it predictable that the world of the environment that we create would be polluted and distorted, chaotic and disorderly to the very extent of the amount of pollution within us”. Each of us should understand the simple concept of Garbage In: Garbage Out. This simple phrase applies to your present state of consciousness.
But, the problem is that there is more to your state of consciousness than simply garbage; there is also truth, creativity and beauty. The condition of your consciousness is a mixture of the garbage and the beauty. If we can represent the beauty of truth within our consciousness as crystal-clear water, and the garbage as dirt suspended in the water or dissolved in the water, then we can have a better idea of the polluted state that we bring into our specific portion of the world which we center.
We are at the center of our specific world as seen through our state of consciousness. There is no one else at the center of our world except us and we are surrounded by a state of consciousness in varying degrees of pollution depending upon our hereditary influences. Is it possible to create a clear, clean world through a polluted state of consciousness?! How can we do this!? There is a Way.
