What’s in a Word?
A word can be a helpful thing
We use them in each song we sing.
We use them when we bow to pray
As true saints will do every day.
Some people use words to spread some charm
The goal of others is to cause pain and harm.
We laugh and sing, shout and curse
Sometimes we make bad situations worse.
A multitude of words lets us be known as such
A fool who often talks too much.
The tongue is a fire, no man can rule it.
Evil thought and intentions are what fuel it.
A word is also something you break or keep.
If you break it, you’re a goat and not a sheep.
A soft answer turns away wrath
As we prayerfully walk this Holy path.
So keep your words pleasing for others to hear
You’ll spread lots of happiness, joy and cheer.
Don’t be judgmental, always be true
The effect of your words will come back to you.
“A soft answer turneth away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger” Proverbs 15:1.
Take Time to Pray
We should always take time to pray,
It can be done any time of the day.
God gave us the pipeline directly to Him,
Without prayer our chances of salvation are slim.
What is prayer? It’s a conversation
With God - Who will hear our supplication
If we obey Him and His Word we do keep,
And conduct ourselves as humbly as sheep.
We should not rush through the day in haste
Without saying our prayers. Oh what a waste!
For nothing we do will turn out right,
Even though we struggle with all our might.
Thanks to God’s Love, we have been freed
To talk to Him about our every need.
God will bless us every day
If we will only take time to pray.

As I Walk With The King is a celebration of the Holy Trinity. It speaks of one woman’s struggle and climb to achieve peace and joy through faith in The Lord.
He brought her from despair, destruction, and death to determination, direction, and devotion.
You will be caught up in the crescendo of praise and worship that unfolds on these pages.

About the Author
Florine Crews has many things to thank God for. He has blessed her to be a 26-year cancer survivor. Her heart stopped during the third operation. God has given her 21 years of sobriety. Florine would not have been able to raise her two daughters, now 43 and 27, without Him
Though her childhood was abusive, and her young adult years took many negative turns, the Lord was there overseeing and keeping her until she could see Him for herself. She now realizes that she would not be as committed and convicted as she is now, had it not been for the things the Lord has taken her through.
At an age when many folks are planning retirement, Florine was enabled to move from a GED at 40, to a Master’s degree at 57, only with God’s help. She has been teaching kindergarten for 14 years, a job that she loves. She is willing to share her experiences with others in the hope that they will be encouraged and motivated.
In her youth, Florine enjoyed reading and writing, but only dreamed of any serious undertaking in writing. Now, under God’s divine inspiration, she can freely express herself about our awesome God. He increases her faith daily, she walks with the King.
