kids aren't home yet--we’ve got some time if we hurry," she said. With four kids at home we are rarely alone so
I make it a habit not to have her say it twice. I quickly, and probably
selfishly, decided that this wouldn't be the right time to tell her I just got
fired. I mean, I'm a normal guy and I
like sex. I like sex a whole lot. I plan to like sex a whole lot for along time!...

Again I felt the impact of being rammed from behind and this time I struggled
hard to maintain control. The Oldsmobile
kept coming and when he hit me again he stayed on the bumper pushing me. I
tried to slow but the weight of the big car behind me was too much and my tires
spewed tons of smoke. Worried about a
tire blow out and loss of control I took my foot off the brake and concentrated
on how to get away because if I didn’t get away from him soon I’d likely be
rolling down the steeply sloped countryside...
...I
was still smiling in anticipation when I saw the business end of a
double-barreled shotgun come out of the window.
I’m sure the look on my face might have been laughable to others but the
feeling behind it was one of shocked surprise quickly followed by immense fear
and truly being dumbfounded. Whatever my
face looked like, as my body was leaning to look inside the cab of the big
truck, the reaction and the whole antic caused me to lose my balance. As I was falling I felt like I was suddenly
pushed on the back of my left shoulder and that a swarm of the fastest bees I’d
ever heard had just zipped past my left ear at something like the speed of
light. I know there was a loud sound too
but my body felt it and absorbed it more than I heard it...
...My
daily journey is only somewhat typical of most of the other commuters who are
competing for space on the freeways. I
figure the distance I travel, just over 30 miles each way, is probably an
average commute distance for the

Dumpee”

trapped in a life, which threatens his family and injures the innocent. With
the help of a newfound friend, Lieutenant Jim Alvarez, Jack takes it upon
himself to solve the mystery and return his family to a normal life.
About the Author
This
is my first attempt at writing, and the pleasure has been all mine. I found it to
be an exciting experience and an adventure that took on a life of its own. I’m already well into creating my second
book, a sequel, that again centers on Jack Bryce and continues many of the same
characters from the first book.
Author’s
background
After
high school I attended college which was then followed by seven years of active
military duty in the Air Force including one an a half tours of duty in
Southeast Asia. After that I continued
my educational efforts through various colleges and management training
opportunities. I have worked as a
laborer, utility worker, and service station owner and have spent the last
twenty years in the pharmaceutical industry where I hold a Director position.
The
“Designated Dumpee” was built around familiar places
and real backgrounds. My wife and I have
lived and raised our children in the
