At ten years old my father was a mechanic and my mother was a nurse. I had two sisters, Mary Ann and Margaret. One being younger and one older, we didn't have a lot of money but we had everything we needed. It was wonderful growing up in a positive family and home -our home was modest but so well kept it wasn't noticed.
At nine years old I told my mother I was going around the world. She said, "Your father can not afford to send you." I have been in twenty-nine countries now and want to see more. You see dreams take off and your just can't stop them. In school I made straight A's in art and I loved doing it. My mother made me a secretary sending me to a private school for shorthand; I didn't like typing seventy-five letters a day about past due bills. Finally I got out of that and it was the happiest day of my life, sometimes we need to check our children's grades and develop them along those lines. Art was really the beginning; I worked for a builder thirteen years on new houses. It led me right into the avenue of color. This was my ability. You are born with certain talents; you just have to find out what excites you. When you have the mental discipline to work toward your goals it becomes easy. You must set goals and cross them off as you complete them. The thrill comes in crossing them off.
I gave a lecture to some farmers and a man of ninety-five came up to me after the lecture, he almost broke my hand. I asked him what his secret was and he said, "You gotta keep moving and you gotta thinking." I thought that was great advice. He asked me after my speech if I wanted to stay and see the show. The show was a belly dancer and she was good.

Why I can't find the Right Job? People ask this question all the time. This comes from self-discipline, many people scatter in their own thinking. You have to learn to like yourself and dream about what you want in life, which goals are most important priority wise and move with this kind of thinking. You can't spend all of the money you earn and you can't work in a job that doesn't interest you. You just won't go anywhere fast enough. I see people all the time that won't take a risk in that direction, they would rather be in a comfort zone. What you feed your mind will grow for the very best or not good at all. Free positive thoughts into the mind, there is a positive circle and a negative circle.
Be sure you are in the positive one. If you put good in the circle it will follow you and be good. Negative is not for the person that wants to advance. It doesn't work that way, make one step to the positive each day and after twenty -one days it becomes the habit that will take you far in life. One had a young student come to me that didn't like her teacher. I told her to take a piece of paper and draw a line through the center. Put the positive thing about the teacher on one side and the negative on the other. I didn't hear back from the student. The teacher had more positive than negative in her teaching. Motivation is so important in life that it is hard to understand why people don't use it. Good luck to you whoever you are. Just get going and you will succeed in whatever your dreams are in life.
