About the Book

That summer wasn’t normal for the usually sleepy northern California town. Seven of its residents, including a storeowner, his son and the town’s postmistress, had to act in ways that would cause major changes in their lives. Would the town ever become sleepy again and did they want that? Would they always be searching?

Over it all floated hawks, dreamily distant and uninvolved with the human action below them.
