I wander through the dim world. I climb the walls to find the slimy growths to feed my hunger. I have no energy for the womb. There is no completion.
I feel loneliness and pain. No sharing--no bonding--no Lavender Sea of foam--no white sand--no seas of luscious grain--no birth canal--no sun, or rain, or flying, or pink sand, or thrumming fulfill my life.
I am lost in a void. Where are my wings? Where is the little one who shares? Where is my world? Where is my life?
I live in the memories of my parents. I escaped from the bonds of the shell. Where was the warm water? I squirmed toward the east to find the sea of grain but only bumped against hard stone. I rose toward the light, but there was no light. I searched and found light, but the light was so weak.
My sixty sleeps of gathering have turned into twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred sleeps. Some sleeps are so cold that my body will no longer move along the rough, frigid stone.
Has my world ended? My parents feared it. Has my life ended without continuing? My parents feared it. They knew the children would not return as adults.
I am doomed to eternal childhood in the void. I want to SHARE! I AM A WING!

About the Author
Tish Hand works as a graphic designer at a t-shirt shop called Tee's Etc. in Enid, Oklahoma. She is an award-winning artist and has portraits worldwide. She tries her skill at everything and has accomplished classical guitar, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, computer technology, monogramming, and creating pageant dresses for her granddaughter. Her hobbies include singing karaoke, playing Tomb Raider, and boating with her fiancé, Larry Humphrey. The boys usually come with them. They are Chewy, a Lhaso Apso, who is the boss, and his bigger, younger, but not wiser companion, Mojo, who was saved from road kill by Larry while going down a local highway.
Widowed after thirty-two years of married life, she has three grown children, and four grandchildren, all of whom she is very proud.
