PROLOGUE
Gary Haun was born on the 4th of July. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He achieved the rank of sergeant and was a hydraulics technician in a helicopter squadron. In July 1973, while working on a helicopter, a hydraulic line burst open and blinded both his eyes. The Navy doctors told Sgt. Haun that the blindness was permanent and that there was no operation or cure that would help.
After being retired from the Marine Corp, Gary would begin a new journey down many different paths. His perspective on adjusting and accepting challenges is the basis of this book.
As the Amazing Haundini, Gary has performed magic for thousands of people. His real magic, however, is inspiring people to look within themselves for the strength that is there to overcome life’s challenges. This book is not about sight, but insight.

In Vision From the Heart, Gary Haun shares his perspective on facing life's challenges. After losing his eyesight while in the Marine Corps, Gary did not let his limitations control his life. He hopes that by focusing on some of his experiences, others, especially those with limitations, will push themselves in a positive direction. As Gary says, "when we accept the challenges in our lives, we can then attempt to overcome them." This book contains Gary's personal philosophy. He has felt the snow on Mount Kilimanjaro and has been bumped around by Great White sharks. He tells you what it is like-from his perspective. A perspective that is unique. He also shares his heart when he talks about his wife's suicide, with a hope that it can help others.
