RED SKY AT DAWN is Rick Lee’s 18th crime fiction book . . . but when asked ‘when he started’ . . . he would say as a child, telling stories for himself and then others. Poems, plays for teenagers when he was a drama teacher. Then this series of thrillers, involving his detective Mick Fletcher from when he was a London outcast sent to the northeast of England, then Cumbria and eventually ending up in Berwick on Tweed. All this time assembling younger characters, who become an amateur sleuthing team, ably helped by a weird computer nerd, Ziggy Hook.
