About the Book

The Battle of the Little Bighorn River started on June 25, 1876, and went into a second day of fighting on June 26th, as Major Reno and Captain Benteen remained dug-in, as best they could, with 7 companies of the 7th Cavalry, survivors of the first day’s fighting. This is a writing to help today’s people understand George Armstrong Custer. Who he really was as a man and as a military officer during the most crucial time in our nation’s history. As the author, I am seeking truth in all I read, but even my truth and understanding most likely will not be someone else’s truth and understanding. Keep that in mind as you read this and other documents in determining what you think. But I encourage you to research to find your truth and not grab the easy myths which are out there for other reasons than truth.

About the Author

The Author is a member of the Custer family lineage and grew up with wonderful grandparents, mother and aunts sporting the relationship we have with George Armstrong Custer. The time had come in life for the Author to find out what Custer was really about. So many negative myths have been attached over the decades to George Custer, that our American Society no longer knows the actual history of this man. He is one of America’s most notable military fighting men and yet this Nation treats his memory now with distain and rejection. The truth is out there in written documents, but almost no one bothers to research that truth when they produce information about George Armstrong Custer now. Sensationalizing the negative myths means a better commercial gain than seeking the actual American History facts. The Author has now laid down the results of his research, which lays open the truth about those made-up myths.
