About the Book
The Tsehun people have a saying. “Our blood burns hotter than the blood of delicate men.” And Alo son Dasan wants to be a man in the tradition of his people. To be a great hunter that rivals his older brother, Kuruk, and makes his father proud. But there is one major problem. Alo is a terrible shot. Can he pass the traditional rites and become a man? Will he make his first kill and begin his journey as a great hunter of the Tsehun? Or will he fail and become one of the Yielded? An outcast among his people. Less than a man and having no purpose. But there might be another danger lurking in the shadows of a distant land. One that forces Alo and his people to make an alliance with the world they work so hard to avoid. And maybe the delicate men are not as delicate as they assumed.
About the Author
Jared Criswell grew up on a farm in Iowa, back when VHS tapes were put into a rewinder after watching a movie and Beanie Babies were high end collector’s items. He obtained a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Iowa State University and spends his days testing water to help keep our rivers safe. When he isn’t working or writing, Jared is probably learning a new boardgame that he may only ever play once or trying to cajole his wife and daughters into becoming Star Trek fans.
