The bride confessed her love for the bridegroom with words of longing and adoration. Righteous hearts rejoiced with joy and hope for His arrival. Ezra, in the middle of the congregation, unable to move to the right or left, was captivated by the worship. He had never witnessed worship in such purity, such awe, and such thickness. The presence of Yahweh Shammah was there - as if He were graciously and methodically maneuvering in their midst rejoicing over them with gladness and singing over them with peace. For hours they worshipped continually, and no one complained or became distracted - their hearts were fixed upon the one Messiah.
Their knees never buckled; their stamina maintained. Linda Leighann Kerry marveled at their spiritual and physical endurance. She requested a chair and sat at the entrance of the doorway witnessing the continuously flowing river of worship - persisting with large currents and pleasant fruit uttered from their lips.
Next, there was Deacon Taylor and Ezra. The atmosphere intensified as more and more believers came repenting and forsaking their unrighteousness in the presence of a holy God. Five hours into worship, with no stoppage, believers with the gift of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue, began to cry out more loudly.
In between their heavenly and their native tongue of Arabic, they cried out for cleanliness and sanctification. When Ezra asked Ishmael what they were saying he answered,
“Alnazafa and altaqdis. They are crying out for God to cleanse them and make them pure. Nadim means they repent of all their sins, and they are asking the Messiah to wash them as snow.”
All throughout the building – and all the other buildings, Ezra heard the people crying out in worship.
“Isa, you are Lord! “Isa, you are Lord!”
As they repented of sins and cast down unrighteousness, more wonder filled the houses. Waves of euphoria and ecstasy washed over them as they screamed the name of King Jesus the louder. Ezra, Leighann Kerry, and Deacon Taylor leaped to their feet with this new wave of worship; it gave them a second wind. Galvanized and consumed with fire, they spoke with unknown tongues as the Sprit gave utterance. The eight hours of worship bought a secession of the strongly manifested presence of the Spirit the Heavenly tongues slowly quieted.
Many kissed their neighbors next to them and returned to their cabins; some stayed to talk about the how their God had kept them, but the overpowering manifestation of Adonai’s presence was gone.
Ezra never experienced worship like that before. He never experienced the weight of God’s glory so heavily. Worship in the States lasted maybe two hours and then you would have to worry about complaints, loss of focus, and people leaving. The pressing of the church of Iran inspired him and amazed him; their zeal in spirit, their hunger and thirst for the God of the Bible invigorated him. He hoped it would be contagious.
