About the Author

Jackie Johndrow Casey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in full-time private practice. She is a Certifi ed Play Therapist, Certifi ed EMDR Therapist, and Certifi ed Gambling Therapist. Jackie is a fi rsttime children’s book author and is excited to share her pup’s story. Jackie is passionate about helping children and families navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. Drawing on her experience in traumainformed and play therapy counseling, she creates stories that gently introduce big feelings and important topics in ways children can understand. Her passion for helping individuals process emotions inspired her to write the fi rst book in a series, Cypress Gets a New Home. Through engaging illustrations and storytelling, Jackie hopes to create and share a safe and fun space for children to explore and work through their feelings. In addition to her counseling and writing, Jackie teaches at NSU as an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s Psychology Department. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with her certifi ed Morkie therapy dog, Cypress, and her beloved Golden Retriever, Blitzen.
