About the Book

The journey for this book started with our Great Grandkids. When Sadie came to us from the breeder, she was 9 weeks old and a bundle of energy. We raised puppy’s before, but we were not the main characters in our puppy’s lives. Our children were. Because of this technical age we live in, we started making cell phone videos about raising a puppy at our age. Before long, our great grandkids started wanting to see more videos and that started their interest in “Sadie”. When we looked at those videos, we noticed Sadie was telling us her story about growing up a “Baker”. We decided to put pen to paper and write down what she was telling us. The result is this book.

About the Author

Bob has two books to his credit. One was his Granddad’s Diary of his first year in World War 1 entitled “Getting To Know Granddad”, published 09-09-2009. This book chronicles Bob’s Granddad Ora Bowen’s diary about his day-by-day activities when fighting the Germans in WWI. He wrote about his trip from “Hoboken, New Jersey to Brest, France” on a converted passenger ship and his 3-day trip in a “horse Car” on a train to the front lines. The horse car had a sign inside that read “20 Horses or 40 men”. The second book “I Drink My Moo, I Do My Poo, That’s All I Do”, published 09-30-2020, written about his life growing up from the early 1940’s to the “Pandemic”. The great grandkids and beyond will get to know about their great granddad’s history, Baker family history, and a little of how they got here. They can also read about some of the history of the times and what it was like growing up during that period. This is the first time Grandma Darbie participated in Book Preparation. She provided editing services in the two Books Bob wrote and was remarkably familiar with the subject of this book. Bob couldn’t have done it without her.
