Love yourself
Repeat: God loves me! I trust you Lord!
Hey Baby Girl, If you don't take anything else from this book, embrace this chapter. Remember It is ok to be alone. When you are alone you learn things about yourself, the things that sometimes are not realized because of dependency of others or outside distractions. Alone time is also time that can be spent with God.
First, learn yourself. Meaning, learn who you are in Christ while learning what makes you cry, happy, mad, sad, what are you pet peeves, what are you afraid of, what motivates you, are you a procrastinator, what are your values, morals, do you keep your word, what do you enjoy doing, what are you good at, what is a great quality about you, what's something you need to work on, all of these are things that when you figure out about yourself, you have a choice to change it if you feel you want to or embrace your individuality. These personal questions help to build your confidence as well. The girl who knows what she stands for will not fall for anything.
Second, Pray continually, Prayer really works. Pray and believe and the desires of your heart will be given to you. Praying is just talking to God. Talk to him in your own way. Read scripture back to him if you don't know what to say, the lord loves for you to speak what he has promised you.
Third, spend this time and focus on school events, school sports, getting your education and doing the things that make you happy. Focusing on the wrong thing will distract you and prevent you from many experiences you need to have to build you as a person. An example: if you don't know what I mean, say you wanted to go to a basketball game but your friends didn't want to go so you decide not to go, you will end up missing the highlights of high school because of someone else's decisions. Go alone, learn to be ok with going places and doing things alone. Life is based on memories, the good, the bad and the funny. So build memories. Enjoy being a child and have fun, you will have enough time to be an adult. Trust me!!..
Fourth, No matter what anybody says about you, You are perfectly and wonderfully made. Love everything about you, even what people may make fun of you for. The lord made you perfect. So embrace every part of you so you will be able to enjoy life and love yourself. God gave us feel will, so you can decide to change personal characteristics about yourself, if you feel they need to be changed to be a better person. Become the person you want to be remembered as.
Fifth, Reflection is not something that everyone learns how to do but learn this early and it is a powerful tool. You reflect on situations to learn from them. Reflection is when you look back at situations after your emotions are no longer dictating your actions. Take the time and think about how you could have handled that situation differently in order to receive a different result. Think of the positive takeaways and apply those to your life. Life is a recurring cycle. It repeats itself. Embrace what you go through because you should be learning something everyday from everyone you encounter that you will need later in life to help you reach your destiny. You will encounter these scenarios again and again to test if you learned from before or not. Mental note: There’s no easy way around this thing called life, so get ready. Life is a forever learning process.
Sixth, If I could tell my younger self something, I would say, believe people when they show you who they are. You can’t change people nor should you want to. Do not ask someone to change. You can suggest some things behavioral problems with people that are close to you. Always Remember: forced decisions lead to deception. Accept them for who they show you they are or don’t allow them in your life. That's your personal choice to make. True change only occurs when someone voluntarily chooses to change because they realized they need to change. Not because someone said they need to change.
Seventh, appreciate everything you are going through because it's either making you into a better or worse person, you get to choose. God does allow you freedom to chose who you want to become. Everything does works out for your good it’s not just a saying. Allow yourself to Trust the process. Pray and ask the lord to remove anything that are not for you and only allow the things that are going to help you grow. I rebuke any negative thoughts or doubts that may be lingering around you today. In Jesus name Amen.
Eighth, people say that money is the root to all evil. I have to disagree. There are some good people who have a lot of money that bless others because they are blessed. Then there are others who make people feel bad because they don't have as much and spend it recklessly. Money can make good people better or bad people worse. The truth is the love of money and the lack of money is the root to all evil. Don’t focus on having the most money, focus on having a relationship with God so that everything else will fall into place. Do not love the world or the things in the world. “If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in them.” (Common English Bible, 1 John 2:15).
