About the Book

What started as a place to vent when my eyes couldn’t hold anymore tears, Petals and Ashes slowly turned into words of hope and life and love and laughter. It’s about going from a place of hurt and darkness to a world of light and love. Sometimes things get to the point where you just give up on everything. And you believe that nothing will ever change or get better. I thought that too. But I waited, and waited . . . until one day someone walked into my life and proved that no matter what, life is precious and very much worth living, even if you just can’t see it yet.

About the Author

Sorsha Lightcap is a young writer with an aptitude for creativity and helping others. She grew up in small town Boyertown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Boyertown Area Senior High School. Sorsha has been through it all: pain, heartbreak, bullying, hurt, loss…to the point where she’d given up. Until she met her boyfriend Joe, who turned her entire life around. Suddenly, the poems weren’t about pain anymore, but love, happiness, hope and laughter. She hopes that this book will reach out to others and show them that no matter what, life is worth living, and there is always something, or someone, waiting to show them that.
