Verse 33 of surah ahzab (the confederates) is one of the most deeply contested and debated verses of the Quran which has led to religious divisions, deepening sectarian schisms, and conflict. About the Author
Syed Abbas Ali Rizvi has forty years’ experience as Director, Manager, Research Scientist, and Sr. Principal engineer with Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare industries. He owns patents in his name in the area of optical physics for the development of a novel device for micro surface analysis and has an MS in chemistry from Eastern Illinois University. He has spent a significant portion of his life in the exploration of controversial issues about the exegesis of selected verses of the Quran, and events that not only changed the course of the history of Islam but how they impacted the philosophy of Islamic thought.
