When Norman was just a baby, swimming along the icebergs in the Arctic Ocean with his pod, he was just as happy as any narwhal could be when he suddenly saw something far off in the distance; there was a shiny...something. "I should go see what it is," Norman thought to himself. So, Norman swam over to see what type of creature was so shimmery, so shiny under the water. But as soon as he got close to it...BAM! Everything went dark.

About the Book
A sweet little narwhal, Norman, has just succumbed to the problem of trash in the ocean. After miles of wandering through the sea, he runs into Muirenn, a Caribbean mermaid. She helps him get rid of the trash and tells him what it is and where it comes from. Excited by her kindness and being free of the trash, Norman asks her to join him as he goes off to help others and make more friends.
About the Author
Nicole Pride was born in Southern California where she grew up frolicking with her family on the beach. Playing in the tide pools, she grew a love of the ocean and all of the creatures in it. Now that she is an adult she is married with two children of her own who she teaches to treat everything and everyone with the kindness. Her favorite hobby is volunteering for local environmental events as Mermaid Muirenn where she gets to use the magic of a child’s imagination to teach them about caring for the community and each other.
