About the Book

Dying of thirst while trapped in the belly of the beast, I pray to God that my breath doesn’t falter in the scorching heat. I stumble around helplessly as my world crumbles due to the pressure. Skeletal trees and tumbleweeds call out to me as I keep searching for the forbidden nectar.

About the Author

Shawayne Dunstan is a Spoken Word artist from Mississauga, Ontario. At the age of 17, Shawayne published his first poetry collection titled “Guilty by Association” while he was still in high school. He aims to inspire those around him while speaking about his own personal struggles such as depression. Poor Man’s Nectar is Shawayne’s fifth poetry collection and his last until he decides to return.
