It was a hot summer day and two friends were on the beach. Kyle and Tina were bored and decided to go on a field trip together. Hey Kyle, look at that. It looks like its 100 years old, said Tina as she pointed to a large wooden boat drifting off the coast. Kyle had not noticed the large boat, and upon seeing it he said, “It looks like a pirate ship! Let’s go check it out.” Once on the boat, Tina found an old map that only said Atlantis. “No way, this can’t be. This is the map to the city of Atlantis, the treasure city!” screamed Kyle. They named the boat the Red White & Blue 997 and set sail. On the back of the map was a code…….. Stormy seas, and whirlpools of black, if one cannot face the challenge it be wise to turn back.

About the Book
Voyages of the 997 is an adventure story about two friends who discover an old pirate ship while at the beach. They explore the ship and uncover a treasure map to the lost city of Atlantis. From there they encounter all sorts of perils on their journey to the elusive city. Join our heroes as they brave through hurricanes and terrible pirates in search of treasure.
About the Author
My name is Kylecovey Smith I was born on May 4th 1998 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. In 2006 at the age of 8, I attended Stewart Street Elementary School. I became part of a temporary training program with an instructor named Tina Fitzgerald. From there she helped me write and illustrate into what is now my very first book, and it has been my prized possession ever since. I graduated East Gadsden High School on May 21 2016, and I was inducted into the National Honor Society and Beta Club for perfect attendance, discipline and excellent grades. The organization is one of the most prestigious among others who recognize students for their hard work, and dedication to academic excellence and achievement. I am currently a first year student at Florida A&M University, as a History major.
