A spring lantern twinkles in the wind Naked kids laughter in a muddy pond. An illuminated night lingers into dawn’s glow. The fat blood shot eyes groundhog glares at me: What do you want? A disappointing May by my window: the pink azalea. forgot to bloom. A quiet baseball field, the first white butterfly on the diamond. Snowy owl keeps calling I skid on the landing and fall.

About the Author
Hanoch Guy PhD, EdD spent his childhood and youth in Israel between orchards and fields. He is a bilingual poet in Hebrew and English and is an emeritus professor in Jewish and Hebrew literature at Temple University. Hanoch taught poetry and mentored at the Musehouse Center. He has published poetry in Genre, Poetry Newsletter, Voices Israel, the International Journal of Genocide Studies, Poetry Motel, and Visions International. He has published his poetry in the United States, England, Wales, and Israel. He won an award from Poetica. He has also won an award from the Mad Poets Society in 2007.
