About the Author

I am David Kurt McClain and I was born in North Texas and raised in Rockwall. In 1985 I took a trip to visit Connecticut. One wife, three kids, two daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law, and three granddaughters later, I am still visiting. In 2003 we were hit with some devistating news. I was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). The doctors told me that I had one or two years to live. Here I am, thirteen years later, still kicking (figuratively)! I joined facebook in 2008 and as I was reading the post of others, I realized that many people are hurting inside. Although I am paralyzed from my neck down, my mind is still strong and I have a message of HOPE to share. Beyond the Rays of HOPE is a compialation of eight years of my facebook posts; intended to encourage, inspire, and at times, make you laugh.
