About the Author

Dr. Beverly Boone is a native of Troy, North Carolina. If you look at a map of North Carolina, you will see that Troy (Montgomery County) sits in the middle of the state. Her interest in writing and reading inspired her to earn a B.S. degree in Secondary English Education at North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina. After a long career as a high school English teacher, she continued her education at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, earning two degrees—a master of education in educational leadership and administration and a PhD in educational research and policy analysis. In addition to serving twenty years as an English instructor, she has also enjoyed a long career as a principal / assistant principal for multiple public school districts in North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as director of professional development / gifted education services at the district-office level. Dr. Boone is also a published author, with four books available through online vendors!
